Park Avenue Armory, New York.
Advanced Graphics exhibited my 'Catalan Series' at the ifpda Print Fair at the Park Avenue Armory, New York. This was the building that housed some of the early modernist shows featuring the work of Picasso and Braque and introduced their work in the United States. The prints were very well received and a number sold.
I spent five frantic days in New York, staying at the Phillipe Starke designed Hudson Hotel. Attending the print fair was the main purpose of my visit but I also saw the major exhibition of NY Abstract Expressionist at Moma. The Metropolitan Museum also had some amazing works on show including Warhol and Rauschenberg. Seeing these works in the environment where many of them were created gave me a far greater insight to the work. I also wanted to explore as much of Manhattan as possible.
New York is an amazing city, it gave me a great sense of energy and I have plans to paint a new major series based on my time there. This visit was life changing and I definitely need to spend more time there.
